5 Major Dangers Of Worldly Wisdom {That Makes It Lethal.}

There are many dangers worldly wisdom has on a person and to a Christian and this post will discuss 5 major dangers of worldly wisdom to help you avoid it at all costs.

As a believer, you need to be aware of the hidden dangers worldly wisdom has to help you not embrace it in your life but rather embrace godly wisdom that brings life to a person and makes one wise in this world.

Without wasting much of your precious time, let’s look at the 5 major dangers of worldly wisdom and why earthly wisdom must be avoided at all costs.

5 Biggest Dangers Of Earthly Wisdom.

Below are the 5 dangers of earthly wisdom you need to be aware of so that you can learn to look for the right wisdom if you want to be wise and not end up being a fool.

  • Makes One Foolish.
  • Doesn’t Lead To The Truth.
  • Draws You Away From God.
  • Promotes Sin.
  • Can’t Give You Eternal Life.

1. Makes One Foolish.

One of the dangers of worldly wisdom is that it makes one foolish in their folly and not wise as only godly wisdom that’s from above as James 3:17,18 tells us can make one wise.

Earthly wisdom makes one foolish because it can’t give you the wisdom and understanding that godly wisdom comes with. Instead, earthly wisdom just makes one think that there are wise in their own ways.

That trait of worldly wisdom is one of the reasons why it’s dangerous and to be avoided. We are also told in James 3:15 that the wisdom of man is foolishness to God in the sense that it cannot make one wise but only makes one foolish.

So, if you don’t want to be a foolish person, don’t embrace earthy wisdom. Rather, embrace the godly wisdom, knowledge, and understanding that comes from reading God’s word as only this divine wisdom will make you a wise person.

2. Doesn’t Lead To The Truth.

Another pitfall worldly human wisdom has is that it can never lead you to the truth which is our Lord Jesus Christ as we are told in John 14:6. All that earthly human wisdom will do to you is just lead you astray towards a dead-end.

Only godly divine wisdom, knowledge, and understanding you obtain by reading God’s word and found in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ is what will lead you to the truth, peace, and life your inner soul deeply desires.

This is why many people today are confused about what the truth is as they have rejected the godly wisdom that comes from God and reading His word. But, have embraced everything having nothing to do with God be it false religions and their teachings.

Therefore, if you want to be led to the truth and know what the truth is in this life, godly wisdom is what you need. Throw away all the worldly human wisdom you have embraced for a long time that’s just leading you astray toward dead ends.

3. Draws You Away From God.

The other thing that makes earthly wisdom so dangerous is that it draws you away from God and your Christian faith due to its carnal, sensual and devilish nature as we are told in James 3:15,16 in the new testament.

This makes sense because the wisdom of this world is from the devil whose main aim is to draw you away from God as earthly human wisdom hates embracing the spiritual things of God as it’s carnal and only interested in pleasing the flesh (1 Corinthians 2:14).

It is why; you will hardly find the mention of God in many worldly books that promote worldly wisdom. All that these kinds of literature do is make you embrace everything in this world but God. Anything having to do with God is seen as foolishness and abnormal.

You can see this trend in schools where the bible isn’t welcome. It’s why many university graduates today are becoming atheists as they have embraced the corrupt worldly wisdom that makes them foolishly question God and think He doesn’t exist.

4. Promotes Sin.

Another danger that worldly human wisdom has is that it promotes sin due to its sensual and devilish nature as we earlier saw in James 3:15.

Unlike heavenly wisdom that’s Holy Spirit inspired and leads one to holiness as well as righteousness, the false wisdom of this world will always encourage you to do sinful things and make you see nothing wrong with it.

Proverbs 1:7 in the Old Testament tells us that, the fear of the Lord is where true wisdom begins. And you can only fear the Lord if you have the knowledge of His word that will tell you what the Lord hates.

Since earthly wisdom unlike heavenly wisdom promotes sin, it’s the reason why many today have no fear of God in their lives as they think they are wise in their own minds becoming fools in the process thinking they can do what they please without any consequences.

5. Can’t Give You Eternal Life.

Last but not least, another danger the demonic wisdom, if this world has that, differentiates it from biblical wisdom is that it can’t give you eternal life later alone the peace that satisfies our soul.

The worldly wisdom of this world can’t give you the eternal life that will enable you to finally spend eternity with God in heaven when you die because it can’t lead you to the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In contrast, heavenly wisdom brings eternal life because it draws you close to God and the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus, the only person who can save you from sin and grant you salvation and eternal life if you believe in Him (John 3:16).

As believers, we need to only embrace heavenly spiritual wisdom that will help us grow in the things of the Lord and strengthen our faith as only this wisdom can give us eternal life that worldly wisdom simply can’t.

Conclusion.

I hope the above 5 dangers of worldly wisdom will now help you clearly see who you need to avoid the demonic wisdom of this world that can’t give you eternal life.

My prayer is after reading this you start embracing the true wisdom of God that will help you become wise and lead you to life, not earthly wisdom that will lead you to ruin.
