1. Love Your Husband.
Believe it or not, in as much as the Bible commands a husband to love his wife in Ephesians 5:25-27, wives are also commended to love their husbands in Titus 2:4 in the New Testament.
By loving your husband as a wife, it means you will treat him with respect and gladly serve him in marriage. The love the bible is talking about here is the selfless Christi-like unconditional love that makes you desire to serve and do your husband good.
In Proverbs 31:11,12 we are told that a good wife does good to her husband all the days of her life which will only be possible if you truly love your husband. Conversely, if you don’t love your husband, you won’t desire to do him good all the day of your life.

2. Keepers Of The Home.
Another duty and responsibility you have as a Christian woman and wife in marriage is that you must be a keeper of the home as commanded in Titus 2:4,5. Keeping the home includes, cleaning, cooking, and doing various household duties
I know this is quite unpopular with many women today who think being a keeper of the home is degrading. However, you need to understand that being a Christian homemaker is the most important job you have on earth as a godly wife.
Yes, you may have heard that your career is more important but that’s a lie from hell as your earthly career has no eternal value while keeping your home does have eternal value and significance which is why you must not neglect this vital duty in marriage.
3. Respect Your Husband.
The third role and duty a wife has in marriage is to respect her husband as commanded in Ephesians 5:33 Implying that you will not act, behave, or speak in a way that will demean your husband.
It’s so sad that many so-called women due to the negative influences of feminism also disrespect their husbands by their attitudes and how they talk to them, especially during a marital disagreement.
Attitudes such as talking back, yelling, and name-calling are sadly common among many so-called godly women in their marriages. This ought not to be so. If you have been disrespectful to your husband, you need to apologize to him today.
4. Godly Submission.
Submission to your husband as unto the Lord in marriage as commanded in Ephesians 5:22,23 is also a vital role you have as a Christian wife in a Christian marriage. Remember, you are only commanded to submit to your husband and not other men who aren’t your spouse
I know this is a very unpopular view in many churches today that are full of religious women full of a Jezebel spirit who think that submitting to their husbands is a weakness which isn’t true at all.
As a godly wife or woman, you need to understand that you are not weak when you submit to your Christian husband in marriage. Godly submission in marriage is what will make you beautiful and lovable to your husband.
5. Physical Intimacy.
As a married woman in a godly marriage, you are also commanded to not deprive your husband of physical intimacy without any proper reason as commanded in 1 Corinthians 7:5 so that you don’t get tempted by your flesh to sin.
It’s so sad that many so-called foolish Christian wives have resorted to using physical intimacy as a bargaining chip and a tool to control their husbands. If you are doing that, know that you are sinning as you are disobeying God’s word.
Physical intimacy is one of the primary needs of husbands in marriage and I plead with you oh dear Christian wife reading this, don’t deny your husband intimacy without any valid reason but nourish him as he needs it badly.
6. Crown To Your Husband.
The other role a godly wife has in a biblical marriage is to be a crown to her husband. I know you have heard that the wife is the neck of the husband which isn’t biblical at all. That statement is degrading in fact.
Proverbs 12:4 tells us that a wife must be a crown to her husband implying that you must treat your husband in a way that will make him feel like he’s the king and be a blessing to him.
By being a crown to your husband, you will love, honor, and respect him above every man living here on earth and you won’t bring him shame by the way you treat him.
7. Faithful.
As a godly woman and wife, you are also expected to be faithful to your husband in your godly marriage in all things. Implying that there must be no lies or secrets to hide from your husband.
This marital faithfulness the Bible talks about also extends to you being sexually faithful to your husband only which implies that no other man must see your nakedness other than your lawfully wedded husband.
It’s so sad there is too much infidelity today even in church where many loose wives shamelessly cheat on their husbands. You need to remember marriage is honorable and if you practice sexual relations outside marriage, God will judge you (Hebrews 13:4).
8. A Companion.
Another vital duty you have as a Christian married woman in your marriage relationship is to be your husband’s suitable companion which is God’s design from the beginning (Genesis 2:18,19).
By being your husband’s companion, you must be there for him when he needs you the most and not abandon your husband in times of need like many selfish wives have done.
This is especially true in times of crisis or sickness where God may test your love to see if you truly love your husband by not leaving him but being by his side as promised in your marriage vows.
9. A Helpmeet.
Genesis 2:18 in the Old Testament also reminds all Christian wives out there that they must be helpers and helpmeets to their husbands be it in the family life and marriage in general.
By being your husband’s helpmeet, it means that you will help and provide vital support your husband needs to function effectively be it in marriage and especially if your husband is in ministry as a pastor’s wife.
You must remember that only you as a wife and no one else is a suitable helper to your husband as you live with him. Only you know your husband’s weaknesses and where he needs grace in his life. So, be a proud helpmeet to your hubby as he needs it.

In addition to being a keeper of the home as we discussed earlier, as a Christian wife, you are also expected to be a homemaker which is one of the vital biblical principles you need to live by as a godly wife (Proverbs 14:1).
By being a homemaker, you are fulfilling the most vital divine purpose you have here on earth. Always aspire to make your home a pleasant place for your children and which your husband would always be glad to come back to.
Fill your home with your fragrant love. As you may know, anyone can buy a house but it takes a godly woman to turn that house into a home filled with love that everyone wants to retire to which is priceless, indeed.
11. Raise Godly Children.
As a godly wife, raising godly children is the most vital and sacred responsibility you have here on earth as commanded in Proverbs 22:6, and also the most eternally rewarding job you will ever do especially when you see them grow into mature Christian adults.
You need to understand that raising godly children comes with a lot of prayer and responsibilities which is why you need to treat the role of being a godly mother to your children seriously and seek godly wisdom in this area.
Spend time teaching your children godly principles in the bible so that they become responsible godly adults and not children that will bring you shame and make you have second thoughts about whether you made a mistake having them.
12. Home Manager.
Last but not least, being a home manager managing all vital aspects of a successful Christian home is another important duty you have as a Christian wife in marriage.
Proverbs 31:10-31 reminds women that the home is their main sphere of influence which is why you need to properly manage your home as a Christian woman by ensuring everyone is taken care of be it your husband or children.
