How Many People Will Go To Heaven {& Will They Be Few?}

How many people will go to heaven according to the bible? I am sure you have asked yourself this question before about the number of people who will make heaven.

With so many answers flying across the web when you google that term, it’s easy to get confused about how many people will go to heaven especially if you aren’t grounded in scripture.

Some say few will enter heaven while some sects such as the Jehovah’s witness say only 144, 000 people will ever make heaven.

However, for us to know the definite answer to this vital question that’s confusing many on issues of salvation, eternal life, and eternity, we need to look at what God’s word says and what our Lord Jesus Christ had to say concerning this issue.

With that said, let’s find out how many people will go to heaven according to the bible so that you can know the truth concerning this vital question as there many false teachings on this that you need to be aware of.

How Many People Will Make Heaven?

While the Bible does not give a precise number of people who will go to heaven. It clearly states that only those who are saved will be in heaven.

Implying that only those of have obtained salvation and eternal life by believing and accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and savior will make heaven and spend eternity with God in heaven in everlasting joy and bliss.

You need to understand as 2 Peter 3:9 tells us in the New Testament, God desires that all men be saved, but this is not possible if they die without faith in Christ Jesus.

The Bible also says in that there will be no more death, tears, and the current suffering we experience in this fallen world due to sin when we go to heaven and in the new heaven and new earth that will come afterward.

One thing you need to understand as you are reading this is that the number of people who will make heaven is innumerable for us to count though it will be a smaller number than those who won’t enter there as Matthews 7:14 tells us.

In short, the number of people who will make heaven according to the bible is many and innumerable, though they will be less than the number of people who will go to hell, sadly.

The question now is,” will you be among that number?” Only you can decide that as the ball is in your court as to where you want to spend eternity when you die which will either be heaven or hell.

Will Only 144,000 People Make Heaven?

Heaven has a limitless capacity and can accommodate any number of people there. I am sure you have heard some cults say that heaven is already full and that only 144,000 people will enter there.

However, this isn’t true but a lie from the pits of hell. If hell while being smaller than heaven can never be overfilled, though many people will be there, why will heaven, which is infinitely larger than hell be full?

If heaven was already full as Jehovah’s witnesses state, our Lord Jesus Christ wouldn’t have said in John 14:1-3 that in His Father’s house, there are many mansions and that He’s gone to prepare a place for you if you believe in Him for your salvation and eternal life.

Since that isn’t the case, it’s not only 144,000 people who will enter heaven as no bible verse supports such a false doctrine but there will be a great multitude of innumerable saints dressed in white robes also from every tribe and nation of the earth (Revelations7:9).

Don’t let the lies of the Jehovah’s witnesses make you think heaven is full which is ridiculous when you think about it or make you lose the blessed hope of spending eternity with God in heaven in everlasting joy and happiness.

There are dead wrong on this issue and to know more on how they came up with this number of only 144,000 people ever making heaven, kindly read the post below as it’s a long story.

Will Few People Enter Heaven?

Now that you know that there will be a host of innumerable saints in heaven and the new heaven and new earth and not only 144,000 people as some false religious cults teach, the other question most ask is also will few enter heaven?

Jesus Christ made it clear in Matthews 7:13,14 that only few people will ever enter heaven and be with Him in eternity in comparison to those who will end up in hell. Now the reasons why only few will enter heaven are varied.

For more on this, kindly check this post on why few will enter heaven to give you more insight on this subject. The fact that Jesus Christ says only a few will enter heaven leads many to ask why God can’t just save everyone.

It seems unloving from a human perspective that God will only choose to save a few and let many perish in eternal torment in hell isn’t it?

However, there is one major problem with such a flawed assumption. Indeed God wants everyone to be saved He isn’t willing that any should perish but all must come to repentance as 2 Peter 3:9 tells us as we say earlier.

Now you may ask, if God is love and that He doesn’t want anyone to perish and go to hell, why can’t He just save everyone since He’s all-powerful and He can do all things right?

Well, my dear, the simple answer to why God can’t just save everyone is because the issue of salvation and eternal life is a personal choice only you can make for yourself.

Salvation Is A Personal Choice.

Since we are free moral agents with free will, even if God wants all to be saved by His grace through His Son Jesus Christ, He won’t force His salvation on us if we don’t want it.

You must decide for yourself if this salvation thing is for you or not. Just look at how many people are rejecting God’s love-gift of salvation by choosing their life of sin and death instead of coming to Christ in repentance.

Since salvation is personal and something that isn’t forced, few will be saved and enter heaven as only few are responding to God’s love-gift of salvation and eternal life through Christ Jesus.

Many due to their love for sin choose to reject our Lord Jesus Christ and choose a life of sin that will lead them to eternal death and separation in hell away from God’s presence when all is said and done (2 Thessalonians 1:9).

So, what you need to know is few will enter heaven in comparison to those who will go to hell not because God doesn’t want to save such people but because many will go to hell because they loved their sin and rejected Christ willfully.

Only Few Will Accept The Offer Of Salvation.

Many when you try to preach the good news of salvation and repentance will tell you that they don’t need to be saved from anything now do they need the Jesus you are preaching in their lives.

In such instances, God can’t be blamed for saving a few who willingly come to Him in humility while many willfully reject and mock His love gift of salvation by choosing their evil ways due to their love for darkness as John 3:19 tells us.

Therefore, few will enter heaven because many who will end up in hell choose to be there out of their own free will and due to their love for sin and darkness, as they hated the light lest their evil deeds are exposed and reproved.

My prayer to any of you reading this is for you to be among the few who will enter heaven by choosing to accept Jesus in your life as your Lord and savior if you haven’t done so.

Don’t be like many people out there who are rejecting Jesus Christ by choosing to live a life of willful sin as such people will bitterly regret it in the end and for all eternity.

Otherwise, hell will be your eternal destiny if you reject Christ now, which will be tragic indeed, and you will have no one but yourself to blame in the end.

You need to understand that the pleasure of sin is only just for a season but the horrible consequence it brings on all those who chose it is eternal.

Don’t miss heaven just because you want to satisfy your sinful flesh for a season. No sinful pleasures of this world are worth missing heaven for where there will be indescribable everlasting joy and happiness not yet known to mankind for all eternity.
