It’s this new nature talked about in the above verse that will make you live a new life characterized by holiness and righteousness. No longer will you desire to live your old life of sin as your old nature of sin responsible for your original sin has been destroyed.

You need to understand that we are all born with the Adamic sinful nature also referred to as the old man of sin the apostle Paul tells us in Romans 6:6 in the New Testament, which makes us naturally prone to sin.

Since you are now free from the bondage of sin, you will no longer struggle with certain sinful habits and addictions you once struggled to break from or stop be it drugs, drinking, sexual immorality, etc.

Romans 6:22 tells us if we are sanctified, we will be set free from sin and now we will no longer be slaves to our former sins and filth but now we will be slaves of God and His righteousness.
