With that said, let’s find out how to overcome the wilderness experience in 5 easy steps that will help you enter your promised land of blessings and your spiritual Canaan which is heaven once your wilderness journey is over.
5 Ways To OvercomeThe Wilderness Season.
Below are the 5 practical ways of overcoming the wilderness season in your life that will help you enter your promised land of blessings and abundance in every area of your life.
- Pray For Grace To Overcome.
- Immerse Yourself In God’s Word.
- Look Unto Jesus.
- Understand God Works All Things For Your Good.
- Don’t Give Up Hope.
1. Pray For Grace To Overcome.
One of the best things you can do as a Christian if you are going through a wilderness experience you want to overcome is pray for the grace to overcome all the hardships, suffering, trials of faith, etc. you experience in the wilderness season.
You need to understand that God’s grace is sufficient for you to overcome every challenge and trial you may be facing during the wilderness season as we are told in 2 Corinthians 12:8-10 in the new testament.
Remember, you can’t overcome the wilderness season by your own strength and power which necessitates the need for you to pray so that our Lord Jesus Christ who has experienced it all gives you the grace to overcome.
Jesus Christ knows what it means to have a wilderness experience as He’s been through it all while on earth. Therefore, asking Him to help you overcome your wilderness season through prayer is the best thing you can do as a believer.

2. Immerse Yourself In God’s Word.
Another thing you can do as a Christian going through a wilderness experience that will help you overcome it is by immersing yourself in God’s word which enables you to be filled with His Holy Spirit you need to comfort you in the wilderness season.
Reading God’s word during the wilderness season is crucial, as it will give you the encouragement you just need to help you overcome this season as you discover the promises God has made in His word if you are having a wilderness experience.
It’s why the Psalmist David said in the old testament in Psalms 34:19 that the righteous may have many afflictions and trials, especially during the wilderness season but the Lord will ultimately deliver the righteous from all their troubles.
Knowing that God is with you during your wilderness season and that He will ultimately deliver you from it as you fully trust Him, will give you the strength and hope that what you are going through is just but for a moment and not here to last.
3. Look Unto Jesus.
Looking unto our Lord Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith as Hebrews 12:2 tells us is perhaps the best thing you can do to overcome your wilderness experience on your way to your promised land.
Since Jesus Christ knows what it means to have a desert experience as He has been through one while on earth (Matthews 1:1-11), He’s the best person to look up to as only He has the grace you need to help you overcome your desert season.
Keeping your eyes fixed on Jesus Christ during your wilderness season will help you not give up on Him as many have as you know with Him on your side, you can overcome anything and whatever trial, and temptation by His grace.
If you don’t look unto Jesus Christ during your wilderness season, you will be very likely to be overwhelmed by the challenges you find there and subsequently give up as you won’t have the grace to help you overcome them.
4. Understand God Works All Things For Your Good.
Romans 8:28 tells us that all things including trials, hardships, and tribulations you may go through during your desert season will work for your own good in the end if you love God and are called according to His purpose.
Realizing this will help you see the wilderness experience you are having in a positive light and view it as a blessing in disguise once you inherit the blessings awaiting you on the other side of the Promised Land once your wilderness season is over.
You need to understand that God allows wilderness experiences in your life so that you can learn to appreciate His goodness, grace, and faithfulness more which you wouldn’t otherwise if you never had a desert season in your life.
Once the wilderness experience is over, you will thank God that you had to go through it once you see how much of a better and spiritually mature person you have become and the blessings you have inherited thereafter.

5. Don’t Give Up Hope.
Last but not least if you are to overcome your wilderness experience, you mustn’t give up hope. Otherwise, if you do, all the above 4 things I have mentioned so far to help you overcome your desert season of trial, lack and temptation will be irrelevant.
If you give up hope and faith in God, you will be like the Israelites mentioned in Joshua 5:1-6 who perished in the wilderness due to their lack of faith and unbelief despite many miracles God had done for them such as manna from heaven, etc.
Many Israelites perished in the wilderness because they gave up hope while they were on their way to the Promised Land and resorted to murmuring or complaining against God whenever they faced any trial there to test their faith.
So, if you don’t want to perish in the wilderness season you may be currently in as many Israelites did, don’t give up hope and hang in there. If you do so, many blessings await you on the other side that exceeds your wildest expectations.
