5 Main Things That Made Esther So Special & Used By God.

Esther is one of the most special and iconic women of God in the Old Testament and today, we will discuss 5 things that made Esther so special and be used mightily by the Lord.

As neat testament believers today, there are many spiritual lessons we can learn from her that we can apply in our daily Christian lives especially if you are a woman.

If you are a woman, Esther needs to be a godly example you must follow considering how feminism has ruined many women today and made them full of pride.

The book of Esther has a lot to say about Queen Esther’s godly character that enables her to save her people from sudden destruction and obtain godly favor from King Ahasuerus.

With that said, let’s look at the 5 major things that Made Esther so special and different from Queen Vashti such that she obtained favor from the Persian King Xerxes that prevented Jews from being exterminated.

5 Things That Made Queen Esther So Special.

Below are the 5 things that made Queen Esther so special besides her beauty that enabled her secure dive favor from King Ahasuerus and King Xerxes in the bible.

  • She Had Faith.
  • She Was Courageous.
  • She Was Obedient.
  • She Was A Compassionate Leader.
  • She Was Humble.

1. She Had Faith.

One of the major things that made Queen Esther so special is that she was a woman of faith and had faith in God that He would deliver her people, the Jews from sudden death and annihilation (Esther 4:16).

Due to her faith in God, Queen Esther went into fasting and praying for God to deliver her and her Jewish people from Haman who sook their ruin and extermination from the earth.

As we see in Esther 4:1-17, she and her made went for a three-day prayer and fasting when she heard from her cousin Mordecai that Haman wanted them to be exterminated.

And because of her faith, she and her people were eventually saved. Rather than going into a panic as most would in her situation, Esther chose to have faith and believe that the God of Israel can deliver them from the distress she and her people faced.

We as Christians especially today like Esther must have faith in God, especially in times of trials and uncertainty, and not let our circumstances doubt God. If you are a woman, let Esther be a challenge to you to have faith in times of uncertainty.

2. She Was Courageous.

The second thing that made Esther special as we see from the book of Esther as a Jewish person faced with being annihilated from the face of the earth is that she was courageous as we see in Esther 4:11-17.

Due to her godly courage, she went to the King to stand up for her Jewish people who are about to be killed and annihilated by King Haman.

Consequently, her faith and trust in God made her save her people including herself from sudden death, which was imminent. Her willingness to stand up for what was right in the darkest hour saved the day.

Had Queen Esther not been courageous, she and her people would have been exterminated from the face of this earth. Thanks to her courage and trust in God, the Jews we currently know of in the bible and see in our time in Israel would have been history.

You as well especially as a woman of God need to have Esther’s courage when faced with difficult situations if you want the Lord to use you mightily so that you can be the reason why your family doesn’t perish in hell if it’s under the devil’s attack.

3. She Was Obedient.

Another thing we can get from Esther’s story that made her a special woman of God is that she was obedient to God’s commands that came via the king as we see in Esther 5:2 and Esther 2:1-15 where she was instructed not to reveal her identity by Mordecai.

Implying that She was willing to obey God’s commands rather than doing things her own way or pleasing herself as is the case with many self-centered women today.

When Mordecai told Esther that he wanted all the Jews in his city to fast, she knew it would be dangerous for her because she would have to go against the king’s orders if he didn’t agree with it.

Still, she did it because she wanted everyone to be saved from being exterminated by the evil King Haman who wanted all the Jewish people dead even though she realized that this could mean her death.

If you are a Christian woman reading this, Esther’s obedience must also encourage you to be obedient to God’s word and be willing to submit to whatever God tells you in all situations.

4. She Was A Compassionate Leader.

Esther’s love and compassion for her people was another trait that made her a special woman of God indeed as she was willing to selflessly die for them as we see in Esther 4:14-16.

Instead of running away into hiding as many selfish leaders of nowadays would do, she chose to selflessly give herself for the Jewish people and was determined to save them at any cost

She put herself in Mordecai’s shoes and understood how he felt when he was threatened by Haman and his plan to destroy their people.

Rather than abandoning Mordecai and the Jewish people to their fate, Queen Esther uses her compassion to motivate Mordecai to help her gain favor with King Xerxes and save the Jews from extinction.

Esther’s love and compassion for her people must be a lesson to all leaders today in positions of authority be it church leaders on how they must treat and lead their flock the Lord has entrusted to them.

5. She Was Humble.

Last but not least, we can also see from the book of Esther that Esther was a woman of humility and wasn’t filled with pride. Her humility is what made her willing to risk her life for her people and their good.

Esther’s humility can be seen in the book of Esther 4:1-16 where she chooses death rather than enjoy the safety and cocoons of comfort in the safety of her palace while Haman is threatening her people with death.

Due to her humility, she mobilized her Jewish people of God to pray for her while also she would do the same along with her handmaids by proclaiming a 3-day fast so that God can deliver them from Haman as we see in Esther 4:15,16.

If Esther had no humility, she would have been blinded by power and greed, which would have made her neglect the plight of her people and seek more recognition for herself rather than focusing on the task of delivering her people from Haman.

If you are in a position of authority, you have a lot to learn from Esther’s humility in that you must seek to serve those you have sworn to serve rather than letting power and greed make you neglect to serve the people under you.

Conclusion.

I hope the above post on the 5 things that made Esther so special and be used by God to save her people will be of great encouragement to you in your Christian life to be like her especially if you are a woman. God bless and don’t forget to share before you leave.
