Will Only 144 000 Go To Heaven {As JWs Allegedely Claim?}

Will only 144 000 go to heaven? I am sure you have come across such a question in various Christian circles that say that only 144 000 people will go to heaven.

A simple google search of whether only 144 000 people will indeed go to heaven returns several interesting search results all with varying opinions and answers.

Some seem to say that heaven is full and that only 144 000 people mentioned in Revelations 14:1 will enter heaven while others refute this idea of only 144 000 people ever entering heaven.

It’s easy to get confused with many different answers that are being given out there. However, for us to know the truth concerning this issue, w we must first consult what the bible has to say about this.

We also need to look at what Jesus Christ said about the number of people who will go to heaven in the New Testament so that we must not get deceived by many false teaching flying around there concerning this vital issue of heaven.

With that said, let’s answer today’s question, “will only 144 000 go to heaven?” By looking at what scripture has to say about this so you don’t get deceived.

Is It True Only 144 000 Will Go To Heaven?

The simple answer to that question is a big no. It’s not only 144 000 who will make heaven. Such a lie is perpetuated by a cult named the Jehovah’s Witness which believes that only their select 144 000 will end in heaven.

And the rest as they say will remain on earth or in earthly paradise in fleshly bodies that will be different from the 144 000 they claim are the only ones who will make heaven.

If that were the case then Jesus Christ wouldn’t tell His disciples in John 14:1,2 that in His father’s house, there are many mansions and that He goes to prepare a place for every one of us who chose to believe in Him for salvation and eternal life.

In fact, Jesus Christ goes on to say in that above Bible verse that if His Father’s house had not many mansions enough to occupy every one of us, He would have told us already.

If only 144 000 people would ever make heaven, Jesus Christ would have told us while on earth that heaven was already too full to accommodate more than 144 00 people as Jehovah’s Witnesses claim with their false teachings on this subject.

Heaven’s Isn’t Full To Capacity & Can Never Will.

Another irrefutable proof that it’s not only 144 000 people who will be in heaven is found in Revelations 7:9 which tells us that John saw a great multitude of redeemed saints in heaven wearing white robes from every tribe and nation on earth none could number.

He further goes on to say that he saw them worshipping God seated on the throne. How can that translate to only 144 000 people in heaven as the Jehovah’s witnesses cult claims?

It’s clear as we see in the above scripture that heaven isn’t full at all so as not to accommodate every redeemed saint of all times as there is no verse in the bible that claims such a false teaching.

If hell which is infinitely smaller than heaven can never be full (Proverbs 27:20) though it will hold a significantly larger population of damned souls who will be vastly more than the redeemed saints of heaven, how can heaven be full?

That doesn’t make sense at all if you come to think about it. Don’t let the lies of the Jehovah’s witness scare you into thinking that you won’t enter heaven and that it’s too full to accommodate any more people.

The Jehovah’s Witness & The 144 000 Story.

The way the Jehovah’s witnesses came about such a false teaching of only 144 000 ever making it to heaven is indeed a long story.

But to make it brief, they came about this false teaching in the 1930s when their failed prediction that Jesus Christ was going to come in the end times at the time failed to materialize.

As you may be aware in the early 1900s, there was a group of people who thought that Jesus Christ would return around 1914 but when that didn’t happen, their leaders came up with all sorts of explanations as to why that never happened.

It’s from this great disappointing event that the Jehovah’s witnesses movement was formed which was founded by Charles Taze Russell.

In the 1930s, this religious cult or the watchtower society movement claimed that 144 000 people of their kind had already been sealed and that the new witnesses would instead inherit this earth and spend eternity here in their physical bodies.

Revelations 21:4 tells us that the new heaven and new earth will be the final eternal abode of all redeemed saints of all times where there will be no more suffering, pain, or death we currently experience in this fallen world due to sin.

There Will Be Innumerable Saints In Heaven.

However, this is contrary to scripture, which says all the redeemed saints of God saved and washed in the blood of the Lamb of all the ages since the word began will spend eternity with God in the new heaven and new earth as Revelations 21:1-27 tells us.

We don’t see only the 144 000 mentioned here. Moreover, our Lord Jesus Christ promises in John 6:47 that anyone who believes in Him will not see death but have eternal life through His salvation, which is universal to anyone who believes in Him.

Implying that when you die you will spend eternity with Him in God’s Kingdom that’s full of everlasting joy and happiness not yet known to all mankind. Won’t that be beautiful dear saint of God?

Saints making heaven is the only blessed hope we all have as redeemed saints of God washed in the blood as we are told in Titus 2:13 when Christ Jesus returns to collect His own which He will at an appointed time.

Without this blessed hope of making heaven when we close our eyes in death on earth, then our faith and hope are in vain and we will be of all people the most miserable indeed.

Who Are The 144 000 In The Bible?

According to the bible, the 144 000 people mentioned in Revelations 7:4 are the number of people who will be sealed during the great tribulation coming from every 12 tribes of Israel, 12 000 from each tribe of Israel.

Scripture tells us that these are a very special group of Jewish people who will be alive during the great tribulation when God’s wrath and judgment will be unleashed on earth during those 7 years of tribulation on earth.

It’s not the 144 000 witnesses coming from the Jehovah’s witnesses as they claim. The Jehovah’s witnesses have grossly misinterpreted that scripture that they view to be symbolic to mean that only 144k of their selected kind will enter heaven.

They believe that only a select 144 000 people from their cult will be selected for heaven and that rest will have to spend eternity in earthly paradise here on earth with our physical unglorified fleshly bodies.

However, this is a lie from the pits of hell as the Bible clearly states that the 144 000 people are the people from the 12 tribes of Israel who will be saved and sealed during the 7-year great tribulation period for believing Jesus is their Messiah and savior.

144 000 Is A Literal Number Of Believing Jews.

It will be a literal number and not a symbolic number, as the Watchtower Society falsely believes. Nowhere does the bible claim that only 144 000 will be saved and ultimately enter heaven.

If that was the case, then Jesus Christ did not die for everyone as we are told in 2 Corinthians 5:15. But we know that’s not true as Christ died for everyone so we can all be saved and finally get to spend eternity with God in heaven finally.

It’s why we are told in Romans 10:9,10 that anyone who believes in their heart and confesses with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and God raised him from the dead on the third day will be saved.

We don’t see the above verse saying only 144k people who believe and confess Jesus is Lord will receive salvation and eternal life which are the prerequisites one needs to enter heaven.

We are all part of the new covenant and not just the imaginary 144 000 the Jehovah’s witnesses claim. Their false teachings of only 144k making heaven are manmade doctrines inspired by the devil that have no scriptural basis at all.

Conclusion.

I hope the above post on will only 144 000 go to heaven has helped you finally know the truth that it’s not only 144 000 people who will be in heaven.

Don’t let the lies of the Jehovah’s Witnesses make you think that you can’t enter heaven due to them saying that it’s full which isn’t true as it’s too vast for that to happen.
