12 Benefits Of Trusting God [To Help You Trust Him More]

Everyone needs something to trust. For me, it’s God and I’ve noticed there are some big benefits of trusting God that can’t be found when you chose to trust in something else other than Him.

Many benefits come with trusting God, which is especially true when you are going through hard times in your life or experiencing disappointment due to trusting others blindly.

Having said that, let us look at the 12 major benefits of trusting God with reference to some bible verses about trusting God that will motivate you to trust God with all your heart further without any reservations.

12 Benefits That Come When You Trust God.

  • He’ll Fight Your Battles.
  • Your Expectations Won’t Be Cut Short.
  • You Won’t Be Disappointed.
  • You Will Have Peace.
  • He Will Direct Your Paths.
  • You Will Have Hope.
  • You’ll Fulfil God’s Purpose For Your Life.
  • You Will Have Unshakable Confidence.
  • Helps Us Avoid Unnecessary Stress.
  • You Will Have The Hope Of Eternal Life.
  • Helps Us Wait Patiently On Him.
  • Your Christian Faith Will Become Stronger.

1. He’ll Fight Your Battles.

One of the benefits of trusting God is that the Lord will fight the battles of your life and you won’t have to worry about fighting every battle as you know that the battle belongs to the Lord as 2 Chronicles 20:15 tells us in the old testament.

Every day, we face various spiritual battles and at times, it may be overwhelming to try to fight all the battles life presents to you but when you trust the Lord you won’t have to worry about fighting them as the Lord who’s never lost any battle will fight on your behalf.

However, if you don’t trust the Lord Jesus Christ to fight your life battles, you will inevitably lose as you are fighting against a formidable enemy, Satan lurking out there seeking to ruin your life at all costs.

2. Your Expectations Won’t Be Cut Short.

Another benefit that will come when you trust God is that your expectations won’t be cut short or disappointed as we are told in Proverbs 23:18.

This implies that whatever you are hoping and trusting God to do for you in your life will all come to pass before you leave this world and these expectations can be wanting to accomplish certain things in your life or making your dream come to reality.

But if you don’t trust God with your life, your expectations will be disappointed which means that you won’t be able to fulfill or accomplish what you wanted to accomplish with your one and only dear life you have.

3. You Won’t Be Disappointed.

If you choose to trust God, you will save yourself from a lifetime of disappointments and heartbreaks that comes when you choose to put your trust in fallible humans who will always disappoint you.

You must understand that in this world, only the Lord Jesus Christ will never disappoint you as He’s not a son of man that He should lie nor repent (Numbers 23:19) unlike humans who can say one thing today and say another tomorrow.

Moreover, if you choose to put your trust and confidence in God as Jeremiah 17:7 tells us, you will be like a tree planted by the riverside that will flourish in all seasons and you will prosper in all you do.

4. You Will Have Peace.

When you choose to trust God with your life, you will have the peace that surpasses all understanding that this world cannot give you the Jesus Christ promised in John 14:27.

You must understand that it’s only the peace that comes from God that can truly satisfy your soul and this peace will be because you know that your life is in safe hands. It’s why you will be able to remain calm and peaceful even when storms are raging in your life.

Never trust and believe that this world can give you peace that satisfies your soul as all you will find in this world is distress, misery, disappointments, etc. as this world is run and ruled by the wicked one who doesn’t want you to have inner peace.

5. He Will Direct Your Paths.

The other benefit that will come when you choose to trust the Lord is that He will direct your paths and won’t lead you astray because Psalms 37:23 tells us that the steps of the righteous are ordered by the Lord.

But if you are not trusting God to lead and direct your paths in your life, you will be led astray by the strange voices of Satan, other people, the world, and those of your deceitful heart.

Note that this one life you have is a valley of decisions and you only get one chance to get it right because if you don’t, it’s gone over and this is where trusting God comes in which is why Proverbs 3:5,6 tells us not to lean on our own understanding which can fail you at times.

6. You Will Have Hope.

Trusting God also comes with the hope that only Jesus Christ can give you especially when you are going through hard times or uncertain times in your life that can bring fear to you.

God’s word tells us in Jeremiah 29:11 that the Lord knows the plans He Has for our lives that are to prosper us, to give us hope and an expected end.

The hope God gives us also includes the blessed hope of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ Titus 2:13 talks about who will finally usher us into heaven when all is said and done. This is the greatest hope you will ever have in this life. Without it, you are hopeless.

7. You’ll Fulfil God’s Purpose For Your Life.

Being able to fulfill God’s purpose for your life will also be another benefit and blessing that will come when you trust God with all your heart.

As we saw earlier in Jeremiah 29:11 that the Lord only has good plans for our lives which also include being able to fulfill His purpose He has for our lives as missing His purpose for your life means you have failed.

However, if you don’t trust God, you won’t be able to find His purpose for your life i.e. What you were born to do here on earth if you choose to trust your own heart blindly instead of the Lord who can’t lead you astray.

8. You Will Have Unshakable Confidence.

Trusting God will also give you unshakeable confidence that no matter what happens in this life whether good or bad, we will always have Him with us as our refuge and strength (Psalm 62:7-8).

This unshakable confidence in the Lord God in your life will be because deep down your heart you know that, unlike humans, He is not a son of man that He should lie, repent and fail to fulfill His promises He’s made in your life.

Nevertheless, if your trust is not in the Lord but in man and yourself, your confidence will be shaky as the latter two are fallible and can disappoint you when you least expect it.

9. Helps Us Avoid Unnecessary Stress.

Trusting God helps us to see things from His perspective, which enables us to avoid unnecessary stress, anxiety, and worry in our lives by keeping our focus on what is truly important (Habakkuk 2:1-4).

Implying that when your trust and confidence are in the Lord Jesus Christ, you will not have to worry or stress about what tomorrow holds, as you know that God is in control and that it’s for you to know what tomorrow has in store.

With this in mind, you will now be able to take one day at a time without worrying and stressing about what the future or tomorrow holds, which isn’t your business to do by the way, anyway.

10. You Will Have The Hope Of Eternal Life.

Having the hope of salvation and eternal life Jesus Christ promises all those who choose to believe in Him (John 3:15) by accepting Him as their personal Lord and savior is another great benefit that will come when you choose to trust God.

What is more blessed than to know that when you die you will be in heaven in glory finally with Jesus Christ, redeemed saints of all ages, and finally seeing God in all His glory when all is said and done with your earthly life?

This is why you can’t afford to not trust your life to God who alone can give you this blessed hope of eternal life through His Son which will finally enable you to enter heaven when you die, the only thing that will matter when you close your eyes in death.

11. Helps Us Wait Patiently On Him.

If you trust God, you also patiently wait for Him to fulfill what He’s promised to do in your life as you know in your heart that He’s faithful, and in due time, He will fulfill what He’s promised to do in your life.

Isaiah 40:31 tells us that only those who choose to trust and wait upon the Lord are the ones who will renew their strengths, get the best from the Lord and fly as eagles without weariness.

But if you don’t trust the Lord but yourself, you won’t be able to patiently wait on the Lord especially if you are experiencing delays in your life. Consequently, you will miss the best the Lord has to offer you would have got if you had waited upon Him.

12. Your Christian Faith Will Become Stronger.

Finally, yet importantly, if you choose to trust God in your Christian life rather than yourself, your faith will also increase in the Lord as you witness His faithfulness and goodness in your life.

As a result of that, your faith gets stronger in the Lord over time as you have the actual proof in your life that God is who says He is and that His faithfulness does not fail and endures forever throughout all generations (Psalms 100:5).

Most Christians who have weak faith are so because they haven’t fully trusted the Lord with all their hearts as you can’t have faith in something you don’t even trust. So, if you want your faith to increase, trust God with all your heart without any reservations or what ifs, dear saint.
