How To Be Saved According To Jesus {In 5 Easy Steps?}

In this post, you will find out how to be saved according to Jesus Christ and by the end of this post, you would have gotten saved and are on your way to heaven if you haven’t received your salvation yet.

Our Lord Jesus Christ has a lot to say about being saved and having eternal life through Him by believing what He did for you on the cross by grace through faith.

The question of how to be saved through Christ Jesus is a very common question that most ask. A simple google search on how to be saved will give you several options to choose from out there.

However, I am sure you have come to this post because you want to truly know how you can be saved according to Jesus Christ and how you can know that you are truly saved and that your salvation experience is genuine and not fake emotional experiences.

With that said, let’s find out how to be saved according to Jesus Christ so that you can have your salvation and eternal life today, and be sure of it if you don’t have them, yet.

How To Be Saved In 5 Easy Steps.

Below are the 5 simple steps you need today if you want to be saved and have eternal life through Christ Jesus so that you can make heaven and not go to hell.

  • Believe In The Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Repent Of Your Sins.
  • Believe In God’s Word.
  • Confess Your Sins.
  • Get Baptized & Sin No More.

1. Believe In The Lord Jesus Christ.

The first thing you need to be saved as Jesus Christ tells us in John 6:47 in the New Testament is to believe in Him so that we can have everlasting life in heaven with Him when we die.

Implying that you need to believe what Christ did for you on the cross by faith and realize that only He can grant you salvation and forgive your sins. Romans 10:9 tells us that if you believe Jesus is Lord in your heart and that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved.

You can’t be saved and receive your salvation through Christ Jesus if you don’t believe in Him and what He did for you on the cross. Acts 4:12 tells us that there is no salvation in any other name apart from Christ Jesus.

This means that Jesus Christ is the only person that can grant you salvation and to saved you from hell. All these other false religions and gurus who promise you something similar can’t save you from hell as they didn’t die for your sins as Jesus did.

You also need to understand that you can’t earn your salvation through good works as most have been misled to think. Only believing in what Jesus Christ did for you on the cross by grace through faith grants you salvation.

2. Repent Of Your Sins.

The second thing you need to do to be saved according to our Lord Jesus Christ other than believing in Him for our salvation by grace through faith is to repent of our sins as well as forsake them all together and turn to righteousness.

If you are wondering whether repentance is necessary for salvation, the answer to that question is a big yes because Jesus Christ tells us in Luke 13:3 that unless we repent, we will likewise perish in hell.

The kind of repentance Jesus Christ talks about here is genuine repentance where you change your mind about sin and God by choosing to forsake your sins and returning to God.

You need to understand that without genuine repentance, which subsequently leads to genuine salvation, you can’t be saved as it will show you are still in love with your filthy life of sin and are unwilling to forsake it.

It’s why the apostle Peter further tells us in Acts 3:19 that we must repent and turn to God so that our sins may be forgiven and blotted out of our lives. This is what true repentance is all about as it draws you closer to God and away from sin.

3. Believe In God’s Word.

Another important thing you need to do to be saved from sin and the horrible consequences it brings upon a person is by believing what God’s word says about your eternal salvation.

Roams 10:17 tells us that faith comes by hearing and that hearing is from God’s word. You won’t know about this good news of salvation and how you can be saved from sin if you don’t hear God’s word.

It is why you need to hear God’s word and not despise the message of salvation and eternal life from the preachers God sends you as they have been sent to you to save you from death and eternal separation sin will bring on all unsaved souls who end up in hell.

When you hear the message of salvation and eternal life just as you are here, don’t reject the plea for salvation the Holy Spirit may be putting in your heart right now and postpone it for a later date as today may be your last day.

If you believe God’s word of salvation by receiving it in your heart, you will be saved. But if you don’t as Revelations 21:8 tells us, you will have to face eternal separation from God and eternal death in the lake of fire for all eternity.

4. Confess Your Sins.

Confession of one’s sins or the life of sin is another crucial thing you need to do if you want to experience genuine salvation that makes one become truly born again which makes one become a new creature as 1 Corinthians 5:17 tells us.

The Confession of one’s sins must come immediately after truly repenting of your life of sin you once loved. Proverbs 28:18 in the Old Testament tells us that only when we truly confess and forsake our sin, shall we obtain mercy and forgiveness.

When you confess your sins, it shows that you are truly sorry and regretful of your past sinful life, which will give, you, even more, resolve to follow after righteousness and have nothing to do with sin anymore.

Moreover, if you do not confess your sins, it shows your repentance is fake and not genuine at all. Implying that you still love your life of sin and have no intention of turning from it for good.

However, if your repentance is genuine once you have realized you are a sinner, you will feel the urge to confess your sins as well as vow never to return to them anymore.

5. Get Baptized & Sin No More.

Last but not least, the final thing you need to do now after being saved from sin and the eternal punishment it brings in hell after doing all the above steps is to now get baptized and to go and sin no more.

By now, you must be saved if you sincerely followed the above steps. You now need to get baptized to show that you are now alive in Christ as a public statement of your faith and that you are dead to your old life of sin.

Water baptism is vital in your Christian life as a new convert as it’s a commandment by our Lord Jesus Christ as we are told in Mark 16:15. You also need to be baptized so that you can receive the Holy Ghost in its fullness as we see in Acts 2:38.

After getting baptized, you are now good to go and are now truly saved and on your way to heaven. All that remains, is to now not return to your former sinful lifestyle.

Just as Jesus Christ told the woman caught in Adultery to sin no more in John 8:11, He has the same words for you as a new convert that you must not return to your former sinful lifestyle because if you do, it shows your conversion is fake.

  1. Jesus is the WORD. To believe in Jesus is to believe in the WORD. So consider replacing # 3 with the idea from the rom 10 text – but not verse 17, but vs 10 – where it says, with the MOUTH, confession is made and you are saved. That confession is “Jesus is Lord” is the Messiah, or maybe the SON of God. We have to confess HIM publicly before He can confess us.

and on # 5 – YOU – cant say you need to be baptized to wash away sins acts 22:16 and then also say, u were saved before the washing. One has not completed the salvation process until baptism, thus IT IS NOT a showing that you are saved, its a command to do because Jesus said to, and why to, in MK 16:16

  2. I found this to be very helpful.
I do believe the coming is soon at hand and I have been inspired by others to take this step as I have heard a calling in my heart but I am far from worthy because of my sins.
Thank you for this advice and I plan to follow it closely.
    God Bless
