1. Surrender Your Life To Jesus Christ.
The first thing you need to do to fulfill your God-given purpose for your life is you need to give your life to Jesus Christ and make Him the Lord and Savior of your life. Giving your life to Christ Jesus will make it more meaningful and solve your existential crisis.
Jesus Christ is the only person who can give you the purpose and meaning your soul deeply craves and desires that all the money, fame, and successes of this world simply can’t. It explains why some famous people commit suicide despite having everything but Christ.
You need to understand that you can have everything in this world be it riches or world success at the highest level but if you don’t have Christ the only person that can give you salvation, your life is meaningless (1 John 5:12).

2. Read God’s Word.
Secondly, if you want to find your God-given purpose and plan for your life is that you need to read His word as reading His word is what will help discover what He has to say about your life.
In Jeremiah 29:11, we are told that the Lord knows the good plans He has for our life which are to prosper us and to give us an expected end. But if you are not reading His word, you won’t know these good plans God has for your life.
Regularly reading God’s word will help you know God better and the plans He has for your life as well as what He ultimately wants you to do with your life before you leave this world, ASAP.
3. Pray For Guidance.
Thirdly, to find God’s will and purpose for your life, you need to pray for guidance, direction, and wisdom in this area especially when it comes to choosing career paths so that He can show you what He wants you to do with your life.
Asking for guidance from the Lord Jesus Christ who’s our great shepherd (Psalms 23:1-5) and counselor is the greatest thing you can do in your life if you want to discover your life purpose.
If you don’t pray for God to guide you, especially in your career choices, you will end up choosing the wrong career choices or paths that won’t even bring you the joy and fulfillment you desire though you earn a lot of money.

4. Don’t Lean On Your Own Understanding.
This is another important thing you need to do in your life if you are to find God’s purpose and calling for your life. Many times, we think we have found what we want to do with our lives only to find out later that we couldn’t be further from the truth.
Proverbs 3:5,6 tells us that we must trust the Lord with all our hearts and not lean on our own understanding which can lead us astray. When you choose to acknowledge the Lord in all your ways, He will make your paths straight and make known your purpose.
Not trusting the Lord wholeheartedly for guidance is the reason why many are not living their purpose as they thought they knew better. You need to understand that the purpose God has for your life may not be what you have always envisioned.

5. Submit To God’s Will For Your Life.
To fulfill God’s purpose and will for your life, you need to submit to His will He has for your life, which isn’t always easy due to our natural self-will that always, wants to do things its own way rather than God’s way.
James 4:7 in the New Testament tells us that we must submit ourselves to God. Only when we do that, will He draw close to us and make His will and purpose for our life known through His word or visions.
However, if you are not willing to submit to God’s will for your life, you will never fulfill what He meant you to do on earth. Implying that even if you are successful according to worldly standards, you will still have an existential crisis of not knowing who you are.

6. Know God’s Will For Your Life.
Without knowing God’s will and purpose for your life, you will never be able to live and fulfill your purpose as you won’t know what that is in the first place.
This is why you need to submit yourself to God and His will for your life as we earlier saw in James 4:7. Doing so, is what will enable you to know God’s will for your life as you commit your plans and ways to Him (Proverbs 16:3-6).
If you don’t know God’s will for your life, how on earth are you going to know what your true purpose in life is? Yes, God’s will for your life may not be what you have always thought but you will be grateful in the end that you submitted to it.
7. Trust God’s Ways.
Another thing you need to do to fulfill God’s purpose for your life is to trust His ways even if you don’t understand them at the time. Isaiah 55:8,9 tells us that God’s ways are different from our ways and that they are perfect.
Trusting God’s ways requires faith on your part and believing that His ways are the best even when you don’t understand them with your limited mind. You need to believe that He has your best interests though you don’t understand His ways at the moment.
If you choose not to trust God’s ways and choose to do what is right in your own eyes, you will miss living God’s purpose especially if you walk by sight rather than faith.
8. Follow God’s Leading.
Following God’s leading through the inner voice in your heart or the Holy Spirit is essential if you are to fulfill your God-given destiny. You cannot fulfill God’s purpose for your life if you are not following His leading and direction in your life.
I know, it can be hard sometimes to follow God’s leading in our lives due to the carnal and fleshly nature that makes us want to be the so-called masters of our fate or think we are in charge of our lives.
However, if you want to fulfill God’s purpose for your life, you need to trust and follow His leading as He will never lead you astray and will lead you to a life full of joy, happiness, contentment, and abundance if you step into His purpose for your life (Jeremiah 29:11).
9. Understand Why God Created You.
Knowing why you were born or created is one of the most crucial things you need to know if you are to fulfill God’s purpose for your life as well as your divine destiny.
In Isaiah 43:21, we are told that the Lord has created us for Himself so that we can show forth glory and praise to Him in everything we do.
You need to understand that the primary reason why God created you was for His glory. Miss that, and you will live a purposeless and meaningless life, which is why suicide will make sense to you as you will see no point in living if your life has no meaning.

10. Understand We All Have Different Callings.
This is another important thing you need to have in your mind. You need to understand that God’s purpose for your life is unique and specific to you as we are all different. You will never live your purpose if you constantly compare your life to others.
Understanding this will help you avoid comparing yourself to others, which is now a big problem even in the church today, which in turn, will help you focus on your unique talents and gifts God has given you for His glory.
The apostle Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 12:12-27 that we all have different, gifts, callings, and talents even when we belong to one body of Christ. Focus on doing what God has called you to rather than obsessing about what your neighbor is doing.
11. Live A Purpose Driven Life.
Last but not least after doing all the above 10 steps to fulfilling God’s purpose and destiny for your life, all that remains at this point is to start living a purpose-driven life.
Implying that you now need to step into your God-given purpose and destiny by living your purpose daily and nothing else. It means that you now need to go all in into what God has called you to do with your life.
Jesus Christ tells us in John 10:10 that He came in this world so that you have life and live it to the fullest, which can only happen if you fully step into your God-given purpose. One of which is desiring you to be saved and have eternal life.
