1. Lives A Life Of Holiness.

Implies that a child of God doesn’t live a sinful lifestyle due to the new nature of Christ Jesus in them Ephesians 4:24 talks about what every true Christian inherits when they have a genuine salvation experience.

You can’t claim to be God’s child if you are still living in sin because 1 John 3:8 tells us that a person who sins is of the devil as the devil sinned from the beginning. Conversely, a person who does righteousness is of God as He’s righteous.

Being born again is crucial because it’s what brings about the new nature of Christ and removes the old sinful Adamic nature we are all born with that makes us inherently sinful and fulfills our sinful passions and fleshy desires that are contrary to God’s word.

It’s why Jesus Christ tells us in John 3:3-5 that no one can enter God’s kingdom unless one is truly born again and has experienced the new birth experience.

You can’t be God’s child if you are not born again as your old man of sin is still active in your life that has yet to be dealt with at the cross of Calvary. So, if you are not born again, yet be today and right now before it’s too late.

4. Filled With God’s Holy Spirit.

Also, if you are a true child of God who professes the Christian faith and lives by it, you will be filled by the Holy Spirit who will be your comforter and your guide in life.

Jesus Christ tells promises us in John 16:13 that if we are His true followers, He will send us the Spirit of truth that will guide us in all truth and keep us from stumbling or being led astray by Satan’s lies that are rampant nowadays everywhere we go be it in church.

In the Old Testament in Deuteronomy 6:5, we are told that we must love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, strength, might, and mind which is the first golden rule given to us as mankind.

If you are a child of God, you will love Him with all your heart, which will show by the commitment you have towards His things. Implying that you must strive to please God, not your sinful flesh or self.

Nothing will be more joyful for you than to serve the Lord with all your heart and do what He commands you to do because you love Him.

Since you love God, no sacrifice will be too much for you to offer to Him. Many Christians today sadly, only claim to love the Lord with their lips but are unwilling to fully sacrifice their lives for Him and do His will. This ought not to be so, dear saint.

If you are truly God’s child who understands what being a true disciple and follower of Jesus Christ is all about, you will love others as Christ first loved you.

Implying that you will desire to serve others rather than being served and not love others just because you have something you can benefit from them.

Our Lord Jesus Christ tells us in John 13:34 that we must selflessly love others just as He’s loved us. That is to say, our love for our fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord must not be based on selfish motives or agendas.

We are also told in 1 John 4:7 that if you love others, you are indeed God’s child and born of God. on the contrary, verse 8 of the same chapter tells us that if you hate others, you don’t know God at all as God is love.

7. Obey God.

Last but not least, if you are truly God’s child, you will obey God’s word and keep His commandments. Jesus Christ further tells us in John 14:15, that if we truly love Him, we will keep His commandments.

Otherwise, we are just deceiving ourselves if we claim to love God and aren’t interested in obeying His word which is sadly the case with many fake Christians today who profess the Christian faith but live lives contrary to God’s word.

You need to bear in mind that you can’t be God’s child if you are living a life of disobedience to His word as that just shows you are still the child of the devil though you go to church every Sunday and sing in the choir.
