13 Signs That You Are Saved (To Help You know For Sure)

Today in this post, you will discover 13 signs that you are saved that will help you know for sure if you are saved and on your way to heaven or not.

The Bible teaches that we can know that we are saved and born again through the fruits we produce when we become genuinely saved from our sins.

With that said, here are the 13 signs that you are saved that will help you know if you are a true believer or a mere hypocrite who just goes to church on Sunday but is on your way to hellfire.

13 Vital Signs To Know If You Are Saved.

Here are the 13 signs of being saved to help you be assured of your salvation and to dispel any doubts you can have concerning your salvation.

  • No Condemnation In Christ.
  • Assurance Of Salvation.
  • Answered Prayers.
  • You Now live A Holy Life.
  • You Bear Good Fruits.
  • God’s Word Isn’t Grievous.
  • You Have The Joy Of Salvation.
  • Peace That Surpasses All Understanding.
  • New Christ-Like Nature.
  • No Desire To Sin Anymore.
  • Have New Agape Love.
  • Separate From The World.
  • Hate False Hood.

1.No Condemnation In Christ

One of the earliest signs that will show that you are saved and have real salvation and eternal life is that the condemnation and the guilt of sin will no longer be there.

Since your sins have been washed by the blood of Jesus Christ, you now appear clean and guiltless before God as if you have never sinned before.

We are all guilty before God as sinners and there is that guilt of consciousness we all have as sinners but when we get justified by faith through the blood of Christ, this guilt of sin disappears.

As Paul wonderfully puts in Romans 8:1 that when we become truly saved, we now have no condemnation in Christ as were are now new creatures who no longer walk after our former fleshly lusts but after the Spirit that now leads us to righteousness.

2. Assurance Of Salvation.

The assurance of salvation is simply knowing and being sure of your salvation due to the witness that God’s Spirit bears with all truly born-again Christians on their way to heaven (Romans 8:16.)

And assurance of salvation will be one of the most important signs that you are saved that you will have when you become saved from sin.

If you are not genuinely saved by God’s grace through Jesus Christ, this assurance of salvation will be absent. Instead, you will have doubts concerning your salvation.

Also, that guilt and condemnation that’s present in every sinful natural man will still be there through your conscience.

3. Answered Prayers.

Since you are truly saved through genuine faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, your prayers will now be answered as you know you have true intimacy with God now.

When you are living in sin, that true intimacy with God is severed because sin separates you from God (Isaiah 59:11) that is why God Never hears prayers of unsaved sinners except that of true repentance.

But when you become saved that sin barrier that separates sinful man from a holy God is breached and you now are no longer separate from God which enables you to have true intimacy with him.

Psalms 34:15 wonderfully states that the Lord is attentive to the ears of the righteous and He hears their cries and answers their prayers in due time.

4. You Now Live A Holy Life.

The holiness of life will be another sign that you are saved from your sins and have real salvation. No longer will you live according to your former lusts.

When you become saved, you get a new nature of Christ and it’s this new nature of Christ that will now enable you to live a holy life and shun sin.

Most people say it’s impossible to live a holy life but that’s not true because Titus 2:11 tells us that God’s grace that brings salvation is now available to all men.

It’s this grace all true believers inherit at salvation that empowers them to deny all forms of ungodliness and worldly lusts so that they can live godly and soberly in this present evil world.

5. You Bear Good Fruits.

If you are truly saved, you will bear forth good fruit because all true believers bear good fruits of righteousness as all good trees bring forth good fruits while bad trees bring forth bad fruits by their nature (Matthews 7:17,18).

When you experience genuine salvation by accepting Jesus Christ into your heart, you become a good tree since your old nature of sin that makes you bear bad fruits will be completely replaced with the nature of Christ that will make you bear good fruits.

Remember, you can’t say that you have true salvation in your life and on your way to heaven if you are not bearing good fruits of righteousness in your life.

No wonder John rebuked the Pharisees in Matthews 3:8 that they must bring forth good fruits of repentance if they claim to be children of God or Abraham’s seed and not just claiming that they are the seed of Abraham while being full of sin and hypocrisy inside.

6. God’s Word Isn’t Grievous.

Another sign that will show that you are truly saved by God’s grace is the word of God will no longer be offensive or grievous to you anymore (1 John 5:3).

Sadly, many people who claim to be true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ find God’s word offensive to them especially if it’s convicting them of their sinful lifestyle.

If you are such a person, just know that you are not a true believer of Christ because obeying God’s commandments will be one of the signs that will manifest when you become truly saved.

For a truly saved believer, God’s word is never offensive though it can feel uncomfortable to the flesh at times. Rather, the true believer receives God’s word gladly in their heart and is never offended by it.

7. You Have The Joy Of Salvation.

It’s impossible to be truly saved without experiencing the joy of salvation that comes upon every sinner that truly repents and turns away from their sins (Psalms 51:12).

The joy of salvation that brings eternal life to sinful mankind is the greatest joy you can ever have that has no equals.

Dear saint, what’s more, blessed than to know that your sins are forgiven and you are now on your way to heaven by the everlasting mercies of the Lord that saved you from eternal damnation in hellfire with the devil and his angels?

But if you are not saved yet, this joy of salvation in Christ Jesus will nowhere be found in your life. Instead, guilt, sadness, and the condemnation of sin are what you will have.

8. Peace That Surpasses All Understanding.

Jesus Christ in John 14:27 promises His disciples that He will give them peace that surpasses all understanding not as the world gives.

This is the case as well to every sinner that truly repents and forsakes their sins. Their guilt and shame are replaced with the joy and peace they have never known while they lived in sin.

The world tries to promise peace but it can’t give you peace because the world we live in is evil, full of sin, and most importantly, controlled by Satan.

True peace that satisfies the soul is only found in God through Jesus Christ who is the Prince of Peace and in no other person or things of this world that just give you misery.

9. New Christ-Like Nature.

It’s just a matter of fact that when you become a truly born-again believer, you are going to inherit a new Christ-like nature which will be unlike the old sinful nature that made you sin in the first place.

With this new nature of Christ in you accompanied by a new heart, you obtain at salvation, you will now have a new desire to follow after righteousness and not sin.

When you have this new nature of Jesus in you, over time you will also discover that your desires and priorities in life will completely change to conform to that of your new Master, Jesus Christ in this case.

You can’t continue living in sin if you have the new nature of Christ in you that all true Christians possess. If you are still living in sin, then you urgently need this new nature of Christ in you that will help you stop sinning.

10. No Desire To Sin Anymore.

The old desire to sin anymore will vanish once you become saved. Remember, when Jesus told that woman in John 8:11 when she was caught in adultery, she told her to go and sin no more when she was forgiven.

And today, Jesus is saying the same to all those who become saved and repent from their sins. It’s not enough to just repent from your sins without any intention on your part to forsake them which is a problem with many false converts today.

When you repent, you must have the desire to go and sin no more and God’s grace that you get at salvation will help you do so if you are willing to no longer go back to your old sinful lifestyle.

The woman Jesus forgave never went back to her filth of adultery she was forgiven and had a new nature in her that helped her not go back to sin. The same must apply to you as well after repenting of your sins, dear.

11. Have New Agape Love.

Agape love is simply the unmerited and selfless love God has for humans as well as the same love we reciprocate to God and other people selflessly (Romans 5:5).

And this agape love comes from God only and nowhere else. You see, we as humans can’t truly love others selflessly the way God expects us to do so because we are fallen.

Due to this fallen nature we all have, this makes us naturally selfish and only love others when its serves or benefits us in some way but that’s no love at all as far as God is concerned.

But when you become saved, God imputes this new pure divine selfless love for Him and others through Jesus Christ that enables you to truly love God and others selflessly without expecting anything in return.

12. Separate From The World.

Worldliness will no longer be in your life especially women out there when you become a true believer. This goes to men as well not only women.

Sadly, there are so many worldly Christians out there who are still in love with the world and this is manifested in how they dress, what they watch, etc.

Today in modern churches, you can’t tell the difference between a prostitute and a Christian lady as they dress alike these days but this ought not to be so.

The Lord commands us to come out and be separate from the world (2 Corinthians 6:17) because as true Christians we are not of this world, though we are in this world temporarily.

13. Hate False Hood.

In these last days we are living in, false prophets and false Christs have now become rampant more than ever before deceiving many unsuspecting souls to hellfire.

And the reason is that many people hate the truth and love falsehood as Paul predicted in 2 Timothy 4:3 that many people won’t endure sound doctrine but after their lusts will be interested in false teachers that will tell them what they want to hear.

But if you become genuinely born again, you will no longer be interested in false teachings from false teachers though their sugar-coated messages may be appealing or feel good to the flesh.

Instead, you will now love the truth and if you find yourself in a church that doesn’t teach the full counsel of God’s word, you will eventually leave that church in no time.

  1. I want to thank you for sharing your thoughts and bible verses of the word. I do not agree with you that “ If you are not genuinely saved by God’s grace through Jesus Christ, this assurance of salvation will be absent. Instead, you will have doubts concerning your salvation.
Also, that guilt and condemnation that’s present in every sinful natural man will still be there through your conscience.” EVERY believer has had this thought or doubt. As you grow and mature in your walk it happens less. People’s salvations is by GRACE through faith Ephesians 2:8 not by if they have moments or not of doubt. The flesh is weak, and will doubt and possibly feel guilt from time to time, that’s why you stay in the word and out on the full armor of God. Lean on Jesus. Not your feelings. May God bless you and you continue to grow in your knowledge of the Lord.

    • Pray to God to open your spiritual eyes to see where you might need to change or make amends in your life and don’t blindly trust your heart which can lead you astray and deceive you. God bless.
